OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Van Hopkins
Dr. Hopkins is a native of St. Joseph, and is excited to be back in his hometown practicing dentistry. Van graduated Central High School in 2016 and then attended Drury University where he earned his BS with a major in biochemistry and a minor in religion in 2020, as well as playing tennis and serving as captain for two years. He then graduated the University of Missouri Kansas City with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2024, where he was also awarded the International College of Dentists USA Section Leadership award for UMKC. Van looks forward to serving the community that has given so much to him!
Dr. Kaitlyn Heidel Walters
Dr. Walters recently joined the prestige practice of Dr. Timothy N. Prawl. She graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Biology. She then attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she earned her degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. She was also recognized and awarded as the best in class in prosthodontics.
She spent many hours volunteering for the local community and visiting local elementary schools to teach the children about proper oral hygiene. She immediately joined the helping hand of Dr. Prawl in the community of St. Joseph and volunteered at the free dental clinic to assist underprivileged individuals with their dental needs.
With exposure to implant dentistry, digital x-rays, and new innovative procedures, Dr. Walters brings to St. Joseph Family Dental a fresh outlook in treatment planning for her patients. Her enthusiasm and gentle spirit will make your whole family's dental experience enjoyable. She looks forward to serving the great people of St. Joseph.
